Playground - A Disguised Extinction !

Ever thought of an instinct which is dying in humans more rapidly than that of tigers in the world ? Yes, i am talking about none other than the sportsmanship. Well, to develop that sportsmanship you need to be involved with something more of a physical in nature, i guess. Off course it can be mental as well but can not be expected in kids all the time. So where do we learn that sportsmanship ? Is it in our homes ? May be a bit - I assume. Is it on ground / playground- mostly ! is what i have observed. Is it easy to find a playground nearby ? This is a question which would perplex everyone. I still remember the days when i was a kid, probably in my teens or preteens, we had enough space were in we could have played in and around the vicinity. But today can you really think of a play ground even 2-3 km near your house ? I doubt. We are all so concerned about the apathy of tigers, lions and animals and other flora and faunas, which is good, no offence to anyone but at the same time are we not ignoring the generation to come or I should say, are we not being biased towards them ? and then we crib that my child is stuck to the phones or video-games all the time. i mean, are they to be blamed really ? We can open fitness centers and hospitals, we are anyways doing it like never before but have we been able to tackle any epidemic or for that matter have we been able to meet the numbers yet ? i am sure, we haven't. in fact not even the world would be able to do this, not even the greatest of the great nations ! We are more concerned about the aftermath but to cure the disease we should rather focus on symptoms. I would have to say this that we are a very lucky generation that we got to see and experience a lot but can the generation after us say the same ?, I doubt.

Sports can be a solution to many menace in our society which includes health, crime, social responsibility, and economics too if guided and fueled properly. India as a nation has highest number of sugar patients and probably in blood pressure as well. Wherein an study says that only 20 minutes of sports (particularly outdoor) daily can keep you away from all the minor and major diseases which includes hypertension as well.

In the words of the great sage of Bharat :-Vivekananda -

We must have noticed around us that the parents are complaining of their kids being too straightforward or probably do not like to share things with anyone or probably they get bored n they keep on asking for or looking for something adventurous. My advice to them is give them a ball and ask them to go n play with kids of their age. If possible, accompany them because nothing is more adventurous than the sport itself. Sports is the biggest adventure you can ever imagine. In today's world only an strong nation can think of becoming a super power. A nation with suffering n lethargic attitude would only stoop low and would be low in confidence as well.

One wish, if reaches the government of the day then I would request the government to issue a notification that all the government and private schools who were given the land at a very economical rates would have to make their ground spaces open to public use, but yes, only after the school time. This would not only help in grooming of kids in the locality but would also engage them upkeep and maintain the ground responsibly.

I also wish, the government of the day would rectify the mistakes of the governments of the past and give the same priority to the playground as it gives to hospitals if i may say so. It would not only help us fetch more medals and world cups but would also bless us with real world cups i.e. A healthy, strong and bright generation and Nation.
